CIRGIS has an unexpected opportunity to make a 2020 aerial imagery collection in Santa Barbara County in August. If you are interested in participating, please contact David Burkhart, CIRGIS CFO.
The company doing the collection will be The Sanborn Map Company (the same company that did the 2017 collection and the oldest mapping company in the United States). 3-inch, 6-inch and 12-inch resolutions will be available and as usual there will be a third-party doing QA/QC to see that the technical specifications are met. With collection in August, imagery delivery is projected to be in April 2021. Because of unusual circumstances 6-inch resolution imagery is more expensive than 3-inch resolution. Almost all agencies in the Ventura County 2020 collection chose 3-inch resolution. If you cannot join us this time, CIRGIS has also scheduled a collection in the Spring of 2022 and again in 2024. Please plan ahead.
Major components of the project remain the same (no changes):
Flight Acquisition Date: Spring 2020
Resolution: 3 inch and 6 inch pixel resolution
Ortho Quality: This product will meet the National Map Standards for high resolution orthoimagery
Product Format: Data will be delivered in individual orthorectified GeoTiff’s per tile, as well as single mosaic MrSID/ECW compressed file
Product Vendor: Sanborn
